We offer a straightforward guide to core services, including local transportation options, Medi-Cal eligibility requirements, and assistance programs designed to help you live comfortably and independently.

Covered California Application

This is the Medi-Cal application. You must create an account first. If you qualify, the benefits identification card (BIC) arrives in 30 days in the mail with an informational packet. Further information can be found on the Covered California website.

Urgent Financial Assistance: Food, Healthcare, Other Needs

Community-Based Financial Assistance Programs

Resource guide that includes: St. Vincent de Paul Society-(emergency housing and crisis support, may need to be evaluated in person), Salvation Army-(Utility Payment Assistance), Ritter Center-(serves low-income and homeless individuals, may need to meet in person), North Marin Community Services-(crisis stabilization and self-sufficiency support, eligibility varies by program.)

Transportation Resources to Healthcare Related Appointments

SFMTA Essential Trip Card Program (Subsidized Transportation)

For SF county residents taking trips in SF. Monthly max of $60 for essential trips. To qualify, you must be: 65+, have a disability, have health conditions or mobility challenges that prevent you from using Muni or accessing nearby stations. More info below.

Gogo Grandparent

Good for those not skilled with technology/don't have a smartphone. Pretty expensive memberships with $11.72 a month for the most basic membership (employees on standby) plus a per-minute fee during rides. The user just has to dial a number and the employee schedules the ride and all details.

Marin Access Mobility Wallet

Eligible riders receive a mobility wallet with a recurring monthly subsidy of $200 for use with transportation providers of choice. Submit intake form then complete an interview. Eligibility info below.

Vivalon Rides for Health

Marin Assisted Transportation: rides for Marin residents 60+ to medical appointments. Free rides, but limited availability, call 415-454-1098. Community Rides Program: significant fee, 48 hr advance booking, Vivalon Non-Emergency Medical Transportation: for Medi-Cal beneficiaries.

Partnership HealthPlan

For Medi-Cal beneficiaries. They coordinate non-emergency medical transportation, non-medical transportation, gas mileage reimbursement, and related transportation support for covered medical services.
